Our Mission
Harvest Day Pentecostal Holiness Church models its name from
scripture.
"I tell you, open your eyes and look at the
fields! They are ripe for harvest." John 4:35
We believe at Harvest Day that there are millions of people in
the world ripe and ready to be brought into the Kingdom of God.
It is our job as God's chosen people to be the harvesters of
those people's souls. Just as a farmer prepares the soil for the
seed, God has prepared his creation for our witness.
How do we witness?
Jesus makes it clear in Luke 12:8 that we are to acknowledge him
before men. Our actions and words are the key tools to lost
souls being found. The secular world is watching, critiquing
every move the church makes and as followers of Christ, we must
obey all of his commandments written in the Holy Bible.
Otherwise, we become like the ancient Pharisees who Jesus called
hypocrites, pretending to be high and mighty when in truth we
are just as damned to Hell as the people we are trying to reach.
When we except Christ a change should be made that supersedes
all earthly ideas and ways of life. If we believe that Jesus is
the son of God himself, we have faith.
Jesus says that "'anyone who has faith in me will do what I have
been doing. He will do even greater things than these,'" (John
14:12).
With that promise in hand, Christians can finally "harvest" what
they have sown, watered, and fertilized. Although a farmer
plants the seed and waters the ground, it takes the miraculous
power of God to make that seed grow. So it is with the seed of
salvation we plant in everyone we come into contact with, it is
God who works within the spirit and heart of mankind. When all
is ready, God sends his sons and daughters to reap.
Matthew 28:19 and 20 instructs us to "'make disciples of all
nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and off the
Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything
[Jesus has] commanded you.'"
Christians have been chosen for this task. We are the harvesters
of the world.
