In the Presence of God There Is...

March 1, 2009

In the presence of the Lord we will find power, peace, comfort, joy, etc. The list goes on and on, but we must also remember that in the presence of the Lord we find judgment and discipline. We want to believe that the God gives us all the good things but keeps us away from the judgment or the discipline. We must face the fact that judgment and discipline ARE part of the love of God. Where would we be if God let us act just any way and never brought us to the place that is good for us. We would wonder around in life, making a big mess and finally coming to a place of destruction. We, in our humanity haven’t the ability to be self-sufficient in our spiritual life, any more than my grand daughter has the ability to be self-sufficient in her natural life. God wants us to live in the fullness that He had planned for us, but we move with the limits of that humanity we talked about early. Trying to do spiritual things, like trusting in the Lord with everything in the natural is just not going to work, except that we let God judge our action and correct our mistakes. God works for us with His ability, which is not limited to this world’s power, to keep us connected with His spirit, and with spiritual things. So with this in mind, all good things come from God, peace, comfort, joy, discipline, judgment, etc. God is good! All the time! Let us get and stay in the presence of God!
